Perform. Win. Repeat

UCF Mock Trial Team is a competitive student organization that competes at mock trial tournaments across the country. Each team travels to at least two invitational tournaments every year throughout the nation and compete to qualify for the national championship! Our teams practice 3 times a week in the evenings, and tournaments are usually once a month on weekends. Joining trial team is a commitment, but it is one that will lead to new friends, skills, and plenty of memories!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Mock Trial?
In mock trial, a team participates in a fake trial against a team from a different school. Our members will argue as the attorneys for either the Prosecution/Plaintiff or Defense, as well as acting as the witnesses in the case. Each team is scored by real judges, attorneys, or law students, and the team with the most points wins! The case is given to us by the American Mock Trial Association (AMTA). For the 2019-2020 school year, we will be dealing with a criminal case.

Do I need Mock Trial experience to join the team?
Absolutely not! Anyone from any background can tryout for the team and we will teach you everything you need to know.

Do I need to be a Legal Studies major?
Not at all! We welcome any and all majors can join the team and benefit from it.

Where can I learn more?
www.collegemocktrial.org is a great place to learn about the rules, look at past tournaments, and see what mock trial is all about!

How many teams does UCF have?
We have three teams as followed: Team 868, Team 869, and Team 870. Each team will travel to different tournaments and have different practice times, and we will often scrimmage against each other for practice.

Where will we travel to?
In the past, we have traveled around Florida to schools like UF and FSU, as well as country-wide to schools such as Duke, Baylor, and Georgia Tech.
